I got sick. It's terrible. It's horrible. It's hot and sticky, but I'm here in this weather, sneezing it up. How does one have a cold, in such hot weather? To be honest with you, I have no idea. It's possibly the fact that I have my AC on full blast when I come back home from work when its sticky humid hot. I get cold, but I leave it on anyway. Or maybe it's the fact, it's too cold at night and I'm not used to just having a duvet cover. I'm so used to bundling up with heaps of layers back at home, the adjustment is just denial. Or, it could be the fact I didn't take any vaccination shots before I came. It is flu season, so I mean. It got me. I'm sick. I need fruit. I need vegetables. I need my vitamins.

I had a huge project due this week.

Same thing goes in university as does at work, if you work on something for more than a few days, you literally get so sick of it, you don't want to look at it. You lack inspiration of making it look better, as it just looks the same from when you started. Asking for help is not a bad thing. Asking for help, asking for critique is a good thing. Do not be afraid. That was what I was afraid of, asking for help. I didn't want to get criticised of how bad it looks and the thought of them thinking, "why did we hire her in the first place? She is terrible." was not something that I wanted to happen. But I am just here to learn, it is fine. I am just an intern, and they know that. What I like about the refinement process with the client and the design company is that we have about a minimum of 3 rounds of feedback. We create what the client wants, and give them options, they give us feedback on what direction they would like to go for and what else they would like. We are purely making things for the client, even if what they want is not pleasant. Procrastination is still applicable in the workforce. Staring at the same thing doesn't help at all.

I ended up going to my first meet & greet meeting with a new client this week and that was really cool! The first thing they do in the meeting is swap business cards with the company and the client. Me - being an intern, and unprofessional, did not have a business card to swap with them, but they still gave me their business cards which was cool! In the meeting we got to learn about the client, about what they do and what they wanted to achieve with us and if we were able to do it! The meeting went well, and it was really cool to see how it was like! Hopefully we will be able to work with them as what they are doing as a business is really cool!

I had lunch with and Aunty & Uncle from home, who coincidentally were here at the same time I was! We went to 'Opendoor Cafe + Courtyard'. Their menu consisted of purely western food. Anything you would find in a New Zealand cafe, they had! I was craving Eggs Benedict, something that is not common here, and the closest thing they had to that was eggs on toast, with bacon and mushroom on the side. YUMMY!

On Friday, I finally went to Mak's Noodles. It has been a place I have been meaning to try ever since I got here. They are famous for their Wonton Noodle Soup. My goal was to only speak cantonese throughout the whole experience. The FOH asked me "how many seats?", and I replied "1". I sat down and read the menu which is conveniently in English, so I could read it, but because I can't read Chinese, I can't say it in Chinese. So when the waiter came up and took my order, I said, "Can I please get this...", and I pointed at the menu, he knows I'm not a local, so he replied with, "Soup Noodle Wonton?" and I said "Yes". Within seconds of being in the restaurant, I have already failed my goal.
