edge of the night.

Music by Sheppard ft. Sebastián Yatra - Edge of the Night

Last week the company had a whole heap of meetings. We landed two really big clients so we will be busy for the last two weeks of my time here in Kōbo. Still working on projects from last week, and some new too, need to create mood boards, logos and more website wireframe designs. On Friday Jacky, our contact from Next Step Connections organised a farewell dinner for us. We met new interns from America, England, Italy, Spain and Ireland. After dinner, the night was still young so we went to explore Lan Kwai Fung at night. We played some stack cup, some highly commercialised beer pong where the table lights up when you get a ball in the cup hitting the sensors and you're served your drink separately in a clean hygienic cup by a game referee. After having fun till the early hours of the morning, we decided to call it a night. On Sunday arvo, we decided to go to Lamma Island. After a 20 minute boat ride, we were greeted with 35degree heat on the small island. I love how just taking a 20min boat ride, you can see a whole other side of Hong Kong, a chill, beachy village. It was so small that there were no cars, just bikes everywhere, everything was in walking distance. We walked to the beach, drenched in sweat, and ran into the ocean. It was refreshing yet unpleasant with plastic bottles and rubbish everywhere. It was disgusting. After an hour or so in the sun, we headed back home for the cool air conditioning.

On Sunday, a few of us went to Ocean Park for one of our last excursions in Hong Kong.

With the weather being great, and a weekend day, the park was full of people. It was busy. Lines were huge. We waited just under an hour to get on the gondola to the other side of the park. The view was amazing, we got over the side of the mountain which was surrounded by Ocean. Once we got to the other side, we went to ride our first rides. The lines were crazy, waiting about 1/2 an hour to and hour for each, so you really had to pick and choose which rides you really wanted to go on. We then went on to look at some indoor aquariums to get away from the heat, and cool down. We also went to see the pandas.

Top 3 Rides

1. Hair Raiser

2. Ocean Park Tower

3. Giant Panda Adventure

Ocean Park is worth it. Definitely go during a weekday as its terribly busy on the weekends as people don't work on Sundays. The rides are more thrilling, and there are heaps of rides for those wanting their adrenaline pumping. There are a lot of other things to do and see as well, and a whole range of themed "lands". I would want to go back again, as I feel that I missed a lot things, but to be fair, the map is not helpful and has not description of what anything is. But overall, I am content with my visit to Ocean Park.

All in all I am really happy with this weekend. I got to do a lot of things on my bucket list and I am content. One more week then this will all be over.
